Bone Feather Earrings
Our bone feather earrings are handmade with bone from deer, antler, and elk. Lonnie and Michelle, from the Lumbee and Oglala Sioux nations, are the artists who craft and design all of our bone feather earrings. In addition to being fine artists, their intent is to preserve their work by handing down the tradition to their children. Feathers were used by the Plains Indian people for generations. They played an important part of everyday life, ceremonies and adornment. Artists Lonnie and Michelle have combined these two traditional mediums to bring you the finest selections of bone feather jewelry available. Turtle Bone Feather Earrings

The turtle earrings are 1.5" and the total length of the pair are 2.5". They dangle from sterling silver earwires. The turtle is symbolic to the American Indians for the continent of North America. Turtle Island is an English language translation of many Native American tribes' terms for the continent of North America and the turtle is symbolic of a 'long life'. Handpainted on the turtle's back are the colors of the four directions.
